Admission to Southern Methodist University

with a scholarship of $356,000

Student request:

Christian came to us in 2023 with a GPA of 2.8, poor English skills, and a completely failed SAT score of 1070. He had no relevant extracurricular activities in the fields of business and logistics. He was studying at a Community College in Texas and wanted to be admitted directly to the first year at a top university in the USA.

We honestly said: it would be difficult with such a profile. First, we decided to strengthen his position at the college, and then arrange for a transfer to the university.

Profile analysis:

What Christian had at the start:

  • An internship at Fullcom Logistics LLC, Odessa, Ukraine
  • Honors List at Community College
  • Volunteering in local initiatives
  • Vice‑world champion in tap dance — prize‑winning places at international championships, including the IDO World Tap Dance
  • Championships (Germany) and the Ukrainian Tap Dance Championship

The activities were vibrant, but in no way related to his future profession. The academic foundation also required significant improvement — with a GPA of 2.8 and an SAT score of 1070, submitting documents to a top‑tier university would almost guarantee rejection.

Work process:

In 1.5 years, we built Christian’s profile from scratch.

Academic strategy. Instead of immediately applying to the 1st year, study at a college with the aim of raising the GPA and then transferring to a university. The GPA increased from 2.8 to 3.3, while the documents were submitted with a result of 3.4.

Profile in logistics and business. Christian launched his own online platform with free courses for Ukrainian youth — on business, digital skills, and IT. For the project, he created the website, social media accounts, and the course system himself, and then began to scale it up.

Additional projects. I made a short film about music, rhythm, and the Universe through tap dance, completed online internships, including the Forage program, and participated in the 12th Annual Global Supply Chain Excellence Summit.

Research activity. Conducted research under the supervision of a PhD mentor using Crimson and Indigo Research, and began writing a scientific publication.

Recommendations. Volunteering at the YMCA resulted in a strong letter of recommendation from the program’s coordinator.

Documents. We put together a complete package: essays, resumes, and other documents that revealed Christian’s story and his journey from a dance champion to a future logistics specialist.

Result:

Christian enrolled at Southern Methodist University (USA) in the Business, Logistics and Global Supply Chain Management program.

The funding amounted to $356,000 for 4 years of study, and the university fully covered the cost in the first year — 100%.
