Common mistakes when filing

for a student visa to America

Getting into an American university is already a success, but, unfortunately, it is not a guarantee of getting a student visa. Even a strong applicant can be rejected at the interview at the consulate if they make one of the following mistakes:

No proof of ties to the home country
If the consular officer has doubts that the student plans to return home after studying, the visa may not be issued. Documents are needed that prove that you have strong ties to the country of residence.

Unsuccessful interview
Weak English, uncertainty, contradictory answers or inappropriate appearance – all this affects the first impression. And it, as we know, can be decisive.

Lack of financial evidence
Insufficient funds in the account or lack of confirmation from the sponsor are common reasons for refusal. The consul must be sure that you will be able to pay for tuition and living in the United States.

Errors in documents
Incorrectly filled out forms, the absence of at least one of the required documents – and your application can be rejected even before the interview.

And, of course, one must not forget about such “little things” as being late to the embassy or missing the submission deadline.

Why does a student need visa support?

1
Saving time and nerves

You won’t have to sort through dozens of pages of instructions, collect information on the Internet and worry that you’ve missed something.

2
Confidence in every step

A specialist will tell you what documents are needed in your particular case, how to fill out the application forms correctly and prepare for the interview.

3
Personal strategy

Each student has their own story, and it is important to take it into account: family status, finances, university. The consultant will select an individual approach to applying for a visa to ensure approval.

Support until the end

You will be accompanied until you receive your visa – both morally and technically. This is especially important when you are scared and everything is new.

Types of student visas

There are 2 types of student visas in the USA:

  • Short-term student visa for students in the USA – issued for short-term programs (up to 90 days), such as language courses or studying at summer schools.
  • Long-term student visa for the USA – issued for long-term studies (more than 90 days) at the bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral level.

Our visa support service is suitable for obtaining both short-term and long-term student visas to America.

Our visa expert

Antonina is not just a visa consultant, but a person who has gone through this journey personally. She received a student visa to the USA during the most difficult period – during the pandemic, when the rules were changing literally on the fly. Thanks to personal experience, she knows the process of obtaining a US visa from the inside, with all the pitfalls and non-standard situations.

Antonina overcame all the difficulties, successfully graduated from an American university and now lives in Miami. And today she helps students from the CIS countries apply for visas to the USA.
