Getting into an American university is already a success, but, unfortunately, it is not a guarantee of getting a student visa. Even a strong applicant can be rejected at the interview at the consulate if they make one of the following mistakes:
No proof of ties to the home country
If the consular officer has doubts that the student plans to return home after studying, the visa may not be issued. Documents are needed that prove that you have strong ties to the country of residence.
Unsuccessful interview
Weak English, uncertainty, contradictory answers or inappropriate appearance – all this affects the first impression. And it, as we know, can be decisive.
Lack of financial evidence
Insufficient funds in the account or lack of confirmation from the sponsor are common reasons for refusal. The consul must be sure that you will be able to pay for tuition and living in the United States.
Errors in documents
Incorrectly filled out forms, the absence of at least one of the required documents – and your application can be rejected even before the interview.
And, of course, one must not forget about such “little things” as being late to the embassy or missing the submission deadline.
